Your little sister noticed it was raining and asked you how the water gets into the clouds and then back to Earth. Explain where the water comes from using the terms condensation, evaporation, and precipitation.
As water rises higher in the atmosphere, it starts to cool and become a liquid again, the process is called condensation. When a large amount of water vapor condenses, it results in the formation of clouds.
Evaporation is when the sun heats up water in rivers, lakes, ocean and turn into vapors. These water vapor droplets join together to make clouds.
Precipitation-- The clouds get so packed with water molecules that they become heavy and much colder. As the evaporation cools it turns back into water and falls down to the ground.
