Both staphylococcus and streptococcus are gram-positive bacteria. But while forming colonies in a plate, they form different colonies.
a) While forming colonies, staphylococcus form grape-like clusters whereas streptococcus forms short chain comprising of rounded-shaped cells.
b) Staphylococcus colonies grow in various directions whereas streptococcus colonies grow in one-direction.
c) Staphylococcus does not need enriched media with specific nutrients whereas streptococcus needs enriched media.
