Pick two different examples of how organisms carry out sexual reproduction and describe their similarities and differences. You will be evaluated more positively if the mechanisms are quite different.
1st organisim - Plants
Plant show alteration of generation, means gametophytic and sporophytic plant body.
Gametophytic body stay inside sporophytic body and produce gametes, after fertilisation of gametes zygote is formed which form the future sporophyte i.e seed and it develops and form new plant. Again in the new plant, some cells produce the gametophyte which produces gametes and cycle continues.
Second organism - human
They do not show alteration of generation and only have one diploid body.
Some cell of Diploid body undergoes meiosis and form gametes, which upon fertilisation form baby human.
Similarity - both form haploid gametes and diploid zygote on fertilisation. Both main body is diploid.
Difference - plant show alteration of generation, travel mechanism of gamete is different. Plants have pollen which are travelled by wind water air.humans have sperms.
