There are two types of adipose tissue in our body, these are
White adipose tissue (WAT) and Brown adipose tissue (BAT). WAT
involve mainly in lipid storage while BAT invole in
thermogenesis.
- Both the adipose tissue originated from lateral mesodermal
plate stem cell. For adipogenesis the precursor stem cell first of
all grow in size. Then the stem cell, which is called pre
adipocyte, undergoes different gene activation for adipogenesis or
adipose terminal differentiation.
- Preadipocyte shows high level of increase in expression of
adipocyte genes including adipocyte fatty acid binding protein and
lipid-metabolizing enzymes.
- different protein activate activation of transcription factors
peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-gamma) and
CCAAT/enhancer binding protein (C/EBP). This is the main bench mark
for adipose differentiation.
