Explain how partial pressure differences between the cell and the capillary result in the movement of those gases between the cell and the capillary.
Capillaries are very small blood vessels that carryout the exchnage of gases and nutrients and wastes between blood and cells. The capillary walls are composed of thin and flat cells. The exchange of materials, gases, nutrients and wastes is accomplished through diffusion. Diffusion occurs from a region of higher concentration to lower region. The partial pressure of oxygen is low and therefore oxygen enters the cells from capillaries. The carbon dioxide partial pressure is high therefore, carbondioxide leave the cells and enter the blood capillaries and is eliminated.
