1. Describe cellular events during meiosis

2. Explain the mechanisms within meiosis that generate genetic variation among the products of meiosis

Answer #1

1. Meiosis is the methid of cell divison which takes place in germ cells and completed in two divisons meiosis 1 and meiosis 2. In meiosis prophase 1 is completed in 5 stages. In first stage called leptotene chromatins are condensed to form chromsomes then in zygptene bivalents formed and in pachytene crossing over takes place. Then diplotene and diakenesis. Then metaphase 1 takes place in which bivalents qre separated. anaphase 1. Then telpphase 1. Then 2nd divison occur in which prophase chromosome are formed and in metaphase metaphase plate is formed. Anaphase 2 sister chromatids are separated. Then telophase 2 four daughter cells qre fomed by cytokinesis. And daughter cells are haploid.

2. In meiosis 1 during prphase the crossing ovee takes place in which mutual exchange of non sister chromatids occur during pachytene substage which causes variation.
