Which characteristics of proteins is shared with DNA?

Which characteristics of proteins is shared with DNA?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

DNA carry the genetic code required to make protein within cells. There are thousands of proteins in our cells that help modulate DNA's functions. DNA maintains the protein-encoding information. DNA-binding proteins include transcription factors which modulate the process of transcription, various polymerases, nucleases, and histones.Nucleases which cleave DNA molecules. Histones which are involved in chromosome packaging and transcription in the cell nucleus.DNA binding proteins do many jobs including controlling protein production, regulating cell growth and division, and storing DNA inside the nucleus.
