Fats provide more energy than the proteins and carbohydrate.It contain 9kcal/g energy.Proteins contain 4kcal/gm energy. The protein is not usually used for energy however the body is not getting enough calories from the fat ,then protein is used as a enery source.

The extra starch or fat is stored in the liver as a glycogen..glycogen is the multibranched chain of glucose...who function as a energy reserve.
