how glucose can affect the Regulation of glucagon secretion?
please briefly (clearly is the best) introduce the steps or mechanism. the whole reaction will be affected by the KATP channel or something of others?
thanks
When there is a hypoglycemic condition in the blood due to various factor such as hyper secretion of insulin etc. In this case a positive feedback is sent to alpha cells to secrete glucagon. Low level of Insulin hormone can further inhibit alpha cells by activating the K+ATP channels which makes alpha cells hyperpolarised. It will inhibit the alpha cell to secrete glucagon by opening the Ca2+ channels which increases the cytoplasmic Ca2+ further leads to increase the release of insulin.
