The spleen is a oval-shaped, brown, flat, essential lymphatic organ keeps body fluids in balanced state and it acts primarily as a blood filter and stores blood to protect the body from infections and blood loss.

Function of spleen:

Lymphocyte formation

Provides immunity to body (purifies the blood)

Blood filtration

Old RBC destruction

Antibodies synthesizes in the spleen white pulp
