2). The arthropod exoskeletons made life on land possible because these exoskeletons offer resistance against several of the environmental pressures and natural wear and tear. However, the exoskeletons also present the following disadvantages.

1). Restricted muscle growth, which restricts the growth of the animal.

2). Restricted body movement.

3). As the internal body does not contain the bones, the body will be damaged if the exoskeleton is damaged.

4). Exoskeletons make the body heavier than the endoskeletons.

As the endoskeletons offer the growth of greater body size, flexibility and light in weight, these structures dominated the exoskeletons during the evolution process.
