The maximum population size that a particular environment can support
The maximum population size an environment can support is generally known as carrying capacity.as the population density increases ,it means birth rate increases and death rate decreases.carrying capacity actually means the number of organisms an environment can support without any negative effects to the environment. It is a balancing level. The negative effects will occur to the population due to insufficient space ,decrease in food ,water etc...the population an environment can support vary from place to place according to the availability of space, food, sunlight etc..when a population reaches carrying capacity means it reach a maximum level of members it can afford without damaging the resources available.
