Reverse transcriptase enzyme is used to create a complementary DNA (cDNA) sequence from the RNA fragment.

Why RNA converted to cDNA

REASONS:

cDNA is derived from mRNA, so it contains only exons but no introns.

RNA is considered highly unstable, because RNA are ubiquitous in nature,

In contrast, DNA is biologically stable, so converting to cDNA ensures the stability of the information content

PCR amplification only works on DNA

RNA is very unstable. They are not going to stay stable at the temperatures required by an active polymerase for very long.Therefore  cDNA,is very stable.

Complementary DNA is often used in gene cloning or as gene probes or in the creation of a cDNA library.

Unlike RNA,DNA molecules can be cloned easily by making the cDNA double-stranded and ligated to a vector DNA.
