Why does the body get thirsty after eating pizza?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer. The very first reason of feeling thirsty after eating pizza is it is salty. Basically, eating salty food develops a feeling of thirst.

As pizza goes into the alimentary canal, slowly after entering into the intestine the salt concentration outside the cells increases, means sodium ions occur more outside the cells then inside. This pulls water from the inside of the cells to the outside region. During this process only, the information is sent to the thirst center located in brain through chemical messengers which evokes the feeling of thirst and ultimately we grab a glass of water to bring back concentration inside and outside same as it was before having pizza.
