Answer

If an egg is fertilized during fertilization, commonly between puberty and cessation of the menses, the egg will grow and develop in the : Uterus

  • After puberty when menstrual cycle begins, every 14th day of the cycle an ovum (egg) is released from the ovary into fallopian tube.
  • If this ovum is fertilized by a male gamete (sperm), it will become a zygote.
  • The zygote further divides and increase the number of cells.
  • At blastocyst stage, the zygote implants into endometrial wall of the uterus.
  • It grows and develops into the fetus and is delivered after around 9 months as a newborn.
