Haematopoiesis is the process of formation of blood cells from
the stem cells in the bone marrow.
The hematopoietic stem cells differentiation into progenitor
myeloid cells and progenitor lymphoid cells.
The progenitor myeloid cell further divides into megakaryocyte
erythroid progenitor which matured to form erythrocytes and
platelets and granulocyte macrophage progenitor which matured into
eosinophil, basophil, neutrophil and macrophage.
The progenitor lymphoid cell divides in the presence of IL2 and IL7
into T lymphocytes. In the presence of IL 7,3 and 4 progenitor
lymphoid cell into B lymphocytes and in the presence of IL15 to
natural killer cells
