A young couple desires to start a family later, but they currently rely on the rhythm method and are uncomfortable with the thought of hormonal contraceptives. What additional form of birth control would you advise them to use?

Answer. Rhythm method is a natural contraceptive in which coitus is not done nearby the ovulation days.

If they are not in favour of chemical contraceptives then they can use barrier method too in which either a male can wear a condom or a female could use a female condom. Condom is a barrier as it prevent the semen from travelling into cervix and uterus. As a result no fertilisation occurs.

They can also use diaphragm, vaults or cervical caps that serve as external barriers and prevent fusion of gametes.
