B. contract which causes the pupils to dilate

C. relax which causes the pupils to dilate

D. relax which causes the pupils to constrict

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer:-(b) contract which causes the pupil to dilate

Explanation:- mainly two muscles regulate the opening and closing of pupil, they are circular muscle and radial muscle. Circular muscle is supplied by parasympathetic nervous system , stimulation of which causes contraction of circular muscle. This constricts the pupil.

The radial muscles are present radially and are supplied by sympathetic nervous system.stimulation of sympathetic nervous system causes contraction of radial muscles and hence dilatation of pupil occurs.
