list the layers of the heart wall

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The wall of the heart consists of three layers:

  1. epicardium (external layer): The epicardium is the thin outer layer of the wall and is built up of delicate connective tissue
  2. myocardium (middle layer): Consist of cardiac muscle fibers, which helps in heart contractions. The myocardium is the thickest layer of the heart wall.
  3. endocardium (inner layer): Endocardium (endo-cardium) is the thin inner layer of the heart wall. The endocardium of heart atria is composed of smooth muscle, and  elastic fibers.

a wall is made with three layers of material. The tempurature on one side of the wall is 30 degrees celcius and on the other side is -15 degrees celcius. Starting at the warm side, the first material has a thickness L1 and the thermal conductivity k1, the second material has thickness L2= 0.7L1 and thermal conductivity k2=0.9k1, and tge third material (one the cold side of the wall) has L3= 0.35L1 and thermal conductivity k3=0.8k1. It is a question about the thermal heat transfer problem. A wall consists of 2 layers in parallel: A=3m^2 and B=7m^2. The indoor air temperature and outdoor air temperature are 20C and 10C, respectively. The rate of heat flow through the whole wall is not to exceed 50W by adding a thermal insulation on the wall ( on both A and B), What is the required thickness of the thermal insulation layer? The thermal conductivity of the thermal insulation layer...
