Can a bleeding in suprachiasmatic nucleus result in blood in the nose? Yes/No. If yes whyy? If No why?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

False

The superchiasmatic nucleus is a small part of the hypothalamus and this part is responsible for controlling the circadian rhythm. There are a range of activities which are controlled by this small tiny part of the hypothalamus and helps in managing a range of functions like body temperature, autonomic function, performance of memory etc. Hence it helps in regulating physical activity as well as sleep pattern and immune function. As it is not involved in regulation of the function of nose or respiration, it does not lead to bleeding of the nose. The suprachiamatic nucleus helps in melatonin secretion by regulating pineal gland and hence it helps in regulating the sleep pattern by indicating if it is night or day.
