Discuss how/why increased MAP and uncontrolled high blood sugar can result in damage to nephron
Explanation :-High blood glucose im diabetic patients cause kidney damage or disease called neuropathy. When glucose level increases in blood the normal mechanism is the pancreas gland release hormone insulin that lowers blood sugar level. But diabetic patients lack insulin hormone thus kidneys are forced to to pump excess of glucose into urine via nephrons causing damage to these functional units of kidneys. It decreases ability of nephrons to purify blood and remove nitrogenous wastes. This results in leakage of albumin proteins into urine and with passage of time if normal blood glucose level is not maintained it results in renal failure.
