Dear Student,
Basically there are five important muscles helping in the Shoulder girdle movements.
They are Trapezius, Rhomboid, Levator scapulae, Pectoralis minor, serratus anterior
Coming to the upward rotation of scapula, the scapula Moves upward and laterally.
The starting posture for this movement is to keep the elbows to the wall and move them upwards when the scapula the making an upward movement. The time spent should be around 3-5 seconds for upward and downward movement respectively. This kind of exercise is also performed in gym and sports by using accessories like dumbbells, etc
The plane of motion in this is primarily scapular plane
Primary muscles involved are Serratus Anterior
and Trapezius.
In this picture given below, I have depicted the original position and the range of movement
Hope you are clear
