One of the major cause of anovulation is pcos which is poly cystic ovarian syndromes. It is also a endocrine alteration in which androgen is secreted in excess which in turn degrades the ovarian hormone and can cause anovulation .

First was due to pcos and secondly there a major effect of sometimes of prolactin if due to any reason prolactin amount is high in your body it causes the degradation of estrogen ajd hence ovulatory hormones.
