a) Considering the amount of stress that various persons and their families are going through during this pandemic season, one cannot overlook how we are all being affected. As a student, examine three relevant approaches that you will use to manage your stress to ensure both your academic and socio-economic wellbeing. (AP – 6 marks)
b) Abigail did a great work and got promoted in her office. Despite the great speech she delivered during the promotion ceremony, she admitted to feeling so stressed due to the promotion that she was awarded. Analyse the type and nature of the stress that Abigail is dealing with and propose ways of managing this type of stress.

c) Time and tide they say waits for no man. Yet John has all the time on his hands to prepare for his end of semester exams but one cannot help but wonder why he is refusing to manage his time well and apply the proper note taking skills to enable him pass his exams. Critically evaluate how proper note taking and time management skills in the learning process can ensure his success in the exams.

d) James believes that taking into account the characteristics, attitudes, steps in critical thinking as well as the communication behaviors, people are more likely to be made critical thinkers than being born as such. Illustrate your agreement or disagreement with the above statement. . Justify your answer using relevant and concrete examples.

e) Choosing the appropriate learning space makes a whole difference in how well a student prepares for examination. Sometimes, the failure of students can actually be blamed on the poor choice of learning environment which they make even as they prepare for exams. Explain in details the four potential factors that your will consider while selecting a learning space as you prepare for exams and indicate how your choice can will be conducive for your end of semester examination preparation.


f) Technological addiction and poor sleeping habits are two major challenges that the twenty first century student has to deal with. With data being so affordable and the easy access to numerous social media platforms, a lot of students spend their sleep times interacting with friends and attending parties. Some are even addicted. Evaluate how you can manage these two major challenges using three key learning strategies to attain academic excellence.

A.The Corona Virus Pandemic has drastically influenced to the life of people in which they are allowed to stay at homes and qurantine themselves.Many people and families cannot overlook how it has been affected and given a lot of stress to them. Ensuring the academic as well as socio-economic well being of people is very important.Following 3 relevant approaches to manage the stress can be implied-

Coping is a dynamic situation specific reaction to stress.It is a set of concrete responses to the stresssful situation that is intended to resolve the problem and reduce it

1.Emotion Oreinted approch-It involves maintaining hope,venting the feelings of hope and remedial strategies to manage the stress.Eg. In the pandemic,many of the people are hopless for future in maintaining good relatiionships in the society due the fear of corona virus annd they are afraid as how they will earn their livelihood.By maintaining hope and positive attitude towards the pandemic,Strssful situation might be minimised.

2.Avoidance Oriented-It is denial by conscious suppression of stressful thought and replacing with the self protective thoughts.Eg.In the Pandemic people are more exposed to the news as how many cases are rising day by day which is definately making their thoughts negative and they got scared as what if they will be exposed to the risk.In this strategy they may avoid this negative thoughts and replace it with 'my Immunity system is good and I am Strong" which may keep the people's mindset strong and they can study properly as well.

3.Task Oriented-It involves objective assessment of the stressful situation,deciding the deliberate,logical and constructive course of action,confront and decide the priorities.eg.Going to colleges or schools isnt possible ,By this approach,a student may make the regular study time plans to self study so that the consistency of acacdemics could be maintained.

B.Abhigail is facing psychological stress in which she is having interpersonal pressure which stem beliefs based upon expectations from inside us to ourselves that I must do everything perfectly.Such expectations may only lead to disappointment.She expected to give the best speech in the award ceremony and therefore she is stressed.She can assist deap breathing practices or she can assert rational thinking to her thoughts and irrational beliefs by making positive statements that she will do a best speech in the award ceremony..

C.Time management and notes taking is crucial for the sucess in academics.John should manage his time and make the proper notes for successful completion of exams.Time management ensures prioritizing the things and doing accordingly by making a time table goes a long run and helps in reducing the examination anxiety as well as proper notes taking helps in the systematic learning which helps in memorizing the things better to succeed.

D.I agree with James notion that attitudes,steps in critical thinking as well as communication behaviours lead to more critical thinkers than a born critical thinkers. Along with the heredity,personal characteristics as well environmental situations develop an individual personality.Attitudes-the way of thinking ,communication go a long way for being a good critical thinker who may analayse perfectly.Eg. If a child is born with good ability to think and analyse but have difficulty in being confident of imposing his way of thinking and attitude to others or is not able to communicate to others,that thinking will not be of any worth.So its very important that with the critical thinking one must able to communicate well as well as present himself/herself well.

E.Learning space factors are very important for studying as it would help in the further concentration levels.

1.Lighting-Adequate lightening in the room is very important so that the content of study is easily available.The room must be adequately lighted.Neither more Nor less.

2.Well Ventilated-The room should have proper air and ventilation which would help in sitting and learning in the room.

3.Silence-Silence is very important for enhancing of concentration as well as the productivity in the study.There must be 0 noice in the room for learning.

4.Sitting Position-A student must sit properly while studying with the back staright and eyes on the content to learn.

F.Learning strategies to Gain academic exellence [Technological Addiction and Poor sleeping Habits]

1.Time Management-It involves spending time according to value and goals.One must spend the tiime equally for everything whether for studies or for fun.

2.Self Care-It means keeping oneself healthy anfit as well as relaxed which can be done by sleeping adequate amount of time .An adult must sleep 8 hours in a day.

3.Exercise-Along with the Technology,keeping oneself fit is very important.One must exercise 30 minutes a day in 1 week 5 days.
