Highlight THREE exercises discussed in class aimed at training the three heads of the Triceps Brachii with rationale as to why they would be effective for increasing both muscular size and strength. Please make reference to the primary movements bought about by the 3 heads of the Triceps Brachii and how they are targeted with the exercises you choose.
Triceps brachii has 3 heads- medial, lateral and long head.
Following exercises are used to train all the 3 heads-
1. Diamond push-up.
2. Skull crusher
3. Triceps push down.
All these exercises focuses in all the 3 heads of triceps. They are effective these exclusively hits the posterior compartment of arm where triceps muscle is present. Simultaneous contraction and relaxation of triceps muscle is brought by these exercise which cause squeezing of muscle fibre and thus increase strength and size of muscle.
The primary function of triceps muscle is extension of arm at the elbow joint.
