Highlight 2 exercises aimed at training the two heads of the Biceps Brachii with rationale as to why they would be effective for increasing both muscular size and strength. Make reference to the primary movements bought about by the 2 heads of the Briceps Brachii and other flexors of the elbow activated during these exercises.
Biceps brachi is the primary flexor muscle of the arm. It has two heads- long head and short head.
2 exercises that trains both the heads are-
1. Barbell curl
2. Inclined dumbbell curl.
Both these exercises involve lifting the weights against the gravity. This involves squeezing of the mucles fibre which increases strength of muscular strength.
Also holding the weights against gravity for some duration increases endurance and size of muscle.
During these two exercises, the other flexors of arm are also activated. These muscles are
- coracobrachialis
- anterior head of deltoid
- pectoralis major.
