In strategic management principles there is a saying that firms’ in their early stage of life cycle are more concerned with survival as against profit maximization. To what extent is this statement agreeable?
There are several stages in the life cycle of an organization. In early stage, organization would not be known to people. There might be other strong competitors already existing. So, the main focus would be to become known in the market and make sure that the organization lives long life.
Hence, organization would require to advertise a lot , offer discounts etc. so as to attract people.
So, in the early stage of life cycle ,the priority would be to make sure the survival rather than profit maximization.
