Why are companies moving toward the hundredth-hour system

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Companies are moving toward the hundredth hour system as it is easy to calculate the employee wages under this system.

In the small businesses, where the employees are paid hourly rate based on hour worked, it is required to convert the time to decimal. Suppose the hourly rate is $12 per hour and an employee worked 39 hours and 21 minutes. then we need to convert 21 minutes into decimal by dividing 21 by 60 as 1 hour has 60 minutes, it will give as a result of 0.35. 39 hours is equal to 39. thus the employee worked 39.35 hour and his payroll wages will be 39.35 hours x $12 per hour = $472.20.

On a frictionless horizontal air table, puck A (with mass 0.245 kg ) is moving toward puck B (with mass 0.373 kg ), which is initially at rest. After the collision, puck A has velocity 0.118 m/s to the left, and puck B has velocity 0.647 m/s to the right. Calculate ΔK, the change in the total kinetic energy of the system that occurs during the collision.

An electron, moving toward the west, enters a uniform magnetic field. Because of this field the electron curves upward. What is the direction of the magnetic field and why? a)towards the west. b)downward. c)towards the north. d)towards the south. e)upward. answer is north because, using LEFT hand,   1) looking at "electron curves upward" = sounds to me that the FORCE is OUT of the PAGE. On a frictionless horizontal air table, puck A (with mass 0.255 kg ) is moving toward puck B (with mass 0.375 kg ), which is initially at rest. After the collision, puck A has velocity 0.121 m/s to the left, and puck B has velocity 0.653 m/s to the right. a) What was the speed vAi of puck A before the collision? b) Calculate ΔK, the change in the total kinetic energy of the system that occurs during the collision.
