explain if confidence interval can be used to test a claim?

explain if confidence interval can be used to test a claim?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Yes, confidence interval can be used to test the claim

Let us say we said the mean number of students in a class in your school is 40

Now you obtain a confidence interval ( 39, 43 )

Then you can conclude that the claim mean number of students in a class in your school is 40

in case your confidence interval was ( 41, 45 )

Then you can conclude that the claim mean number of students in a class in your school is more than 40

in case your confidence interval was ( 36, 39 )

Then you can conclude that the claim mean number of students in a class in your school is less than 40
