Answer #1

Suppose we have two different groups to compare the same attribute, in these cases we use statistical inference (confidence interval or hypothesis test) on two samples

For example, the daily calorie consumption of males and females in a particular state

If the variance is known we will use statistical inference (confidence interval or hypothesis test) on two samples using z values and if the variance is unknown we will use statistical inference (confidence interval or hypothesis test) on two samples using t values.

The procedure is to assume initially that the means are the same and then check for the significance for the difference if it is truly 0 or not.

Hypotheses for a statistical test are given, followed by several possible confidence intervals for different samples. In each case, use the confidence interval to state a conclusion of the test for that sample and give the significance level used. In addition, in each case for which the results are significant, give the sign of the correlation.
