An interaction effect can be identified in all of the following ways EXCEPT through inspecting marginal means.

The interaction effect can be identified by looking at the pattern of cell means. If there is an interaction effect, the pattern of difference in cell means across one row will not be the same as the patterns of differences in cell means across another row. This dissimilar pattern of differences in the cell mean indicates the interaction effect.

If these cell means are graphed, it is more easier to identify by looking at the pattern of the graph. Here the pattern of one section of the graph is different from the pattern in the other section. This pattern indicates the interaction effect.

In the last option i.e.by a verbal description of results obviously we can know the interaction effect.
