For the following questions, indicate what kind of analysis you would perform and identify the hypothesis.
5. Alex wants to know if his students prefer a chocolate flavor to a chocolate mint flavor. He counts the number of preferred flavors from his class.
Let this class has N students.
Also X be the number of students in class said chocolate flowers. Hence X is a random variable.
Again p is the probability of prefer chocolate flavours.
So here X is binomial random variable with parameters N and p
Now we set up the hypothesis is
H0 : p=0.50
Vs
H1a: p<0.5
H1b: p>0.5
So are trying to test whether half of the population likes chocolate flavours or not.
Here we will go with binomial testing.
If H0 is accepted then we can say 2 flavours has equal effect. If H0 vs H1a testing H0 is rejected then we can say chocolate mint flavours is significantly higher.
For H0 vs H1b if H0 is rejected rejected chocolate flavours is significantly higher then chocolate mint flavours.
