4. College Professors can have zero and up to 40 years or fifty years of College experiences! Professor tells you the number of teaching experience among College Professors. He remembers the mean but can’t recall the standard deviation was 6 months, 6 years or 16 years. Tell him which one it must have been and why? (Explain Clearly!!)

If we consider standard deviation is 16 years, it would be normal for the number of years teaching to vary between 16 years above the mean and 16 years below the mean. If the average age of the professor is some where around 50 years, it is fairly for a professor to begin teaching at age of 50 - 32 = 18. IT is unrealistic and it is clearly not the case.

Like wise 6 months also too small. using 6 months standard deviation is also not realistic.

The 6 years standard deviation is the most likely possible years of number of teaching experience.
