1) A car dealership has three models of car: A, B, and C. The sales data are stored in an Excel spreadsheet. For example, one day of the data set might look like this:

which indicates that on January 1st 2020, the dealership sold two model As, one model B, and one model C.

1) Categorical Data

It is categorical because as the given variables represent types of data which may be divided into groups. Examples of categorical variables as Model A and Model B. While the above data is Nominal type because in this case the order of the models sold doesn't matter. What matters is that the number of units of Model A sold and the number of units Model B sold in the day.

The above example has two categories. Every car sold on that day could be categorize in those two types.
