The randomized complete block
design (RCBD) is a standard design for agricultural experiments in
which similar experimental units are grouped into blocks
It is used to control variation
in an experiment by,
for example, accounting for
spatial effects in field or greenhouse.
The defining feature of the RCBD
is that each block sees each treatment exactly once.
Advantages of the RCBD
Generally more precise than the
completely randomized design .
No restriction on the number of
treatments
Some treatments may be replicated
more times than others.
