what should you do when reporting a correlation?

Answer #1

We know that correlation has two main things, one is magnitude and other is its sign(positive or negative)

So, when reporting a correlation value, focus on the magnitude and the sign of correlation

For example, if we have a correlation coefficient r = -0.92

then,we can report it as follows

Obtained correlation coefficient value is -0.92, which is a negative value. Correlation coefficient value is close to -1, so it is strong negative correlation. Negative sign shows that increase in one variable is resulting in decrease in other variable.
