Suppose that when Suppandi eats a good breakfast, he usually has a good day, AND when Suppandi has a good day, he has usually eaten a good breakfast. Does it follow from this that for Suppandi, eating a good breakfast correlates with having a good day?
(Ask yourself whether it's possible for these two things to be true even if there is no correlation.)
a. yes
b. no
No
Causation takes a step further than correlation. It says any change in the value of one variable will cause a change in the value of another variable, which means one variable makes other to happen. It is also referred as cause and effect.
Hidden factor may be mood.( If he has good mood he usually eats breakfast and then having a good day as well)
It may be possibe that mood is correlated to breakfast and good day and both are not directly correlated.
