In what ways has our education system changed and how has this impacted teens?
Our education system has changed considerably over the years. We are currently in a stage where there is mounting pressure on students to perform well academically. Our entry into a reputed university and subsequent employment appears to be determined by our success during school.
The pressure on children to achieve high levels of academic success is overriding the joys of education and leading children to anxiety and depression. With a narrow view of success, schools promote a one-size-fits-all approach that negates students’ individuality and confidence.
