Muslim societies liberalized policies and attitudes toward women in the 1800s and early 1900s. Describe two of these liberalized policies.
1- Salafism was the important and effective movement in early 19th century which modernise the Islamic society toward women, the modernization provide some rights to women in which education, employment and clothing were the most prominent. Modern Salafism, is the first Muslim ideological movement attempting to reconcile Islamic faith with modern western values such as democracy, civil rights and equality.
2- The emergence of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was the mile stone in Muslim society and was the opportunities for the Muslim women in early 20th century. He modernise the Muslim thoughts and prepared some important laws to women. Muslim women were given right to education, working outside home and active participation in political issues.
