(The Complete Persepolis)
What price is Marjane finally willing to pay for freedom? What indications are there that this last departure will be more successful than the previous one?
Instead of accepting and conforming to the autocratic and oppressing religious regime of her country Marjane finally choose to leave her country. This decision was hard for her as it meant to leave her place where was she born and brought up, the place to with she identified herself and above it was leaving her family for the rest of the life. Marjane knew that she was never going to come to her place and live with her family again, that the things are not going to same for her in the future and that she is stepping out of her comfort zone. This was the price that Marjane is finally willing to pay for her freedom.
Marjane's family supported the freedom of Marjane,as instead of making her conform to the views of the regime in her country they decide her send away to a place where she is free to have her personal views and is not pressurized to conform to the societal norms. They knew well that they are sending her to an unknown place for her, but where she is free. It was hard for them to take this decision as Marjane had just entered her teenage. During the last last days in her place with her family, Marjane spends the time in a way that she could collect all the memoirs that she could hold it for her entire life time. She spends her time wandering in the mountains of her homeland to memorize it, she takes the soil of her homeland with her, she smells her grandmother's bosom in a way that she would remember it her for entire life. These instances show that this last departure would be more successful than the previous one.
