Peer influence can be a double edged sword as it can have both favourable and unfavourable effects. During my adolescent years, I was highly susceptible to peer influence. I clearly recall how I, along with my group of friends, would constantly mock, ridicule and poke fun at a girl in our class. Although I personally found this behaviour quite appalling, I tended to go along with it simply because the rest of my friends appeared to derive great pleasure out of it. Having grown older now, I am constantly motivated by some of my peers in a favourable fashion. A close friend of mine began volunteering at special education school and encouraged me to do so as well.
