Colleges and universities in California should create specific guidelines for incoming students that minimize the use of screen-based devices during class time to limit students distractions from coursework but allow controlled use of laptops, in particular when that use can enhance coursework to improve learning and help schools meet their educational mission.
Use of screen devices in the classrooms while lectures and other class activities distracts the attention of students. It negatively interferes with attention and focusing ablities of students that is most essentially required for effective learning. Though they enhance and are helpful in learning when used in structured manner. The use of screen devices should solely be for educational requirements and other uses of these devices should be strictly prohibited.
