Attention bias is a natural tendency to focus attention toward certain factors during a social interaction. Attention biases have been demonstrated to affect cognitive processes in humans. How do the environment, genetic dispositions, and attitudinal dispositions interact in ways to modify attention biases? Why is this significant in understanding human cognitive processes?

Attentional bias is the tendency where the perception of people is affected by the recurrent thoughts that they have at one particular time. The failure of an individual to look or agree to any other alternative, will be explained by the attentionwl biases. This is because, the individual is guided such that rheumatoid would think in a particular manner. This pre disposition of thoughts that the individuals have, guide them to consider smoking as positive or anxiety as reality.
For example, when a person is smoking. When a person is smoking he has been influenced by his environment such that he would be inclined towards smoking. This inclinations msy be coming from the peers who explain smoking as a positive or a sign for being cool. The person imagines smoking to be a positive sign. Moreover, his attitude is moulded since he gets encouragement from his friends in the form of positive reinforcements, that further push him to carry out such behaviours.
This is important in understanding cognitive processes as it explains that an attitude carried out by a person or an action carried out by a person is not as a result of only one factor, but an integration of a number of factors, that make a person carry these behaviours.
