Summarize the below passage in your own words.
Certain complex actions are of direct or indirect service under certain states of the mind, in order to relieve or gratify certain sensations, desires, &c.; and whenever the same state of mind is induced, however feebly, there is a tendency through the force of habit and association for the same movements to be performed, though they may not then be of the least use.
Some of the actions registered in the mind have impact in the mind in both direct and indirect ways. These are present in a passive or active form in the brain and such passive presence can act by either relieving a situation or by making a situation more complicated and intense. When a situation is induced where similar situations may be faced, these passive impressions built in the mind, though present in a very faint manner, it is the tendency of the mind to revert to the similar actions by making associations. These actions may still be performed even if they are not used regularly or even if they are not in practice.
