Violence against women can be defined as the intentional use of power amd/or physical force that is either threatened or real towards women.

Violence against women is certainly men's issue. This is because the perpetrators of these violence are usually men or atleast rooted in the ideas of patriarchy handed down to us by men. Thus violence against women reflected perversion of masculinity and and alarming need to look at why the issue of violence against women is such a prevalent issue even in today's modern era.

Treating violence against women as a issue with men and not with women transfers the focus from the women as the cause of the issue as seen in victim blaming back to the real perpators of crime. Therefore violence against women is a men's issue and must be treated as one.
