This book was based on the child's rearing under the difficult circumstances. It gives a very beautiful insight about the child mental status when exposed to any trauma and how these events affects his childhood.

Perry has given an idea about how the child's sense of healing and hope which helps him to recover from the trauma and stressful event. He has given scientifical and neurogical effects of trauma on the child's brain and the psychological approach used to treat the PTSD.He says that childrens are sensitive and vulenerable to stress and distress and it should be handled in a compassionate and sense of mindfulness manner. Through this kindness and affection given to them we can heal them and improve their life and create an environment in which they can easily express themselves and nourish progressively.
