One of the most interesting thing about PTSD is that how long sometimes it can take for the person to start showing the symptoms of PTSD after a traumatic event. this makes it very difficult to identify when and what was the traumatic event which made the person start developing the symptoms. Also, PTSD can occur in childhood, so how does one know that whether it was a traumatic incident which had happend in the childhood or a long traumatic childhood which as made the person develop the symptoms in the aduthood or may have even led to development of other mental disolrders in adulthood. Future research in this field could be done on the traumatic events of the childhood and how it has contributed to various mental disorders, this can be a longitudinal study. Other research can be on why it takes so long for the symptoms to develop sometimes.
