St. Dominic de Guzman was born in Castile, Spain in 1170. It was said that when he was born the priest saw a star on his forehead thus later he became the saint for the astronomers. The Albigensian Heresy that spread across Southern France propagated that all matters are evil thus human body is evil thus Jesus if he is a good man shouldn’t be a human. St. Dominic fought against this heresy by stating that Jesus was God who took the human shape. St. Dominic preached that everyone is created in God’s image, so everyone is good. He formed the Dominican order which took this mission forward. Today, it very closely relate to the positive psychology and humanitarian approaches that strives to see the goodness in every human being thus elevating them to God status and attain their complete human potential.
