Describe and give an example of: common fate, common region, and uniformed connectedness. The example cannot be one that was used in the textbook.
Common Fate is one of the gestalt principle of perceptual organization of movement. In this, stimulus elements move together in such a way they create a perception that they are one unit. Some examples of Common Fate are flock of birds and marching bands.
Common Region is another Gestalt principle that is highly related to proximity. It states that elements or objects when placed closely to each other in a certain region, they appear to be grouped together. For example, a box of black dots divided by white spaces, the black dots and the white space both will appear to be grouped together.
Uniformed Connectedness is one of Gestalt principles that states elements that are related or connected with certain uniform visual properties appear to be more related or connected than those which have no uniform visual properties. For example, the use of roman numerals or using frames and colors.
