Jack was CEO of GE and started his career at GE in 1960 and since then he worked for the growth and development of GE. He played instrumental role in bringing huge success for GE in the era of intense competition and market liberalization. Some of his key responsibilities through which he was able to improve the performance of GE are Goal setting, Empowering employees at all levels, communicating goals and visipn,leafing from front by motivating and encouraging employees

2.Before becoming CEO of GE Jack Held various positions at GE. In until period he worked as junior chemical engineer at GE. He then worked as vice president of Plastic division of GE from 1968 to 1973.Also he worked as vice president at metallurgy and chemical divisions of GE from 1971 to 1973. He then become head of strategic planing during 1973 and held the post till 1979.He was a Chemical engineer. He completed his Masters degree in chemical engineering and PhD from Illinois university.

3.Jack Welch was born to Grace and John Francis Welch. His mother was homemaker and father was working as railway conductor. He was born in Peabody, Machachuttes in 1935.He was Irish American and Roman Catholics. Both his paternal and maternal grandparents were Irish nationals.
